2008 Mini-Workshop & Stash Sale Fundraiser

On Saturday, September 20th, we were very pleased to have Eunice Scully share her sewing talent & artistic vision with us at our Mini-workshop and Stash Sale. Eunice is a local. Her truck show, "Journey of a Fabric-holic" included many quilts, jackets, purses and art "postcards" all using special embellishment techniques. After her lecture, we had the opportunity to see how Eunice creates many of these special fabric manipulation techniques. She presented a dozen or so techniques, including pin-weaving,"painting" with thread, "lace" made with sulky solvy, reverse appliqué, and numerous others. After her demonstration, we each had a "hands-on" opportunity to try techniques with Angelina Fiber, fabric scrunching, bead embellishment and couching with yarn. We were able to come away with great new techniques and creative inspiration. Some of Eunice's techniques have already been used by Marcia Neeley, who has entered an "art" postcard show/fundraiser here in Fort Wayne at ArtLink.

Also, many great bargains were available at the stash sale. This Chapter fundraiser always brings out the generosity of our members. Those who have donated items and those that shopped - you are appreciated! Wonderful treasures found new homes and maybe some of those finds will end up in a technique shared by Eunice!
