"Operation Rescue" - October 6th, 2007
Seventeen chapter members stepped up to the call for "Operation Rescue". Our Chapter was contacted by a company that supplied 2500 fleece head warmer headbands for the Indiana State Police Alliance's "Cops 4 Kids" program. The headbands had arrived in adult size!! With less than a 2 week turn around time, "Operation Rescue" was set in motion.
After our 3 hour session at the Georgetown Library on Saturday, all 2500 headbands were altered, with only 550 left for final trimming. Special thanks go out to Marilyn Morgan and Melanie Tisdale who gave us a jump start on hundreds of the headbands for the project.
"Operation Rescue" was a success! The "Cops 4 Kids" program was held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds on Saturday, October 13th. 4,000 disadvantaged children received coats and head warmers…presented with the help of the Indianapolis Colts football team!
