2008 CHAPTER ANNUAL MEETING

On Saturday, October 25th the Fort Wayne Chapter of the American Sewing Guild held our Chapter Annual Meeting at Pavilion #1 at Franke Park. After a short business meeting which included Chapter Advisory Board elections, we were treated to a fashion show featuring the SWAP wardrobe method. In this method, SWAP stands for "Sewing With A Plan". The garment collection starts with any two coordinating pieces, an additional piece is added to create a basic 3 piece ensemble. From there the goal is to add additional garments to mix and/or match to have 5 pieces and, ultimately, 7 pieces that build a well coordinated wardrobe. Prizes were awarded for the "Most Wearable" 3, 5 and 7 piece ensembles. The SWAP plan was the featured topic presented this year at the "Garment District" Neighborhood Group.

The day ended with door prizes and member surveys. The majority of door prizes were donated by our Neighborhood Groups. Many of those were handmade items created by the NGs. You are very much appreciated for your generosity. Not only for the prizes, but sharing your time and friendship throughout this past year in the Neighborhood Group environment. The Chapter Advisory Board has already reviewed the surveys to help develop an action plan for enhancing our Chapter and benefit our membership. Our CAB is very grateful for our members that participated in the survey. We appreciate your effort and suggestions that help us serve you and keeps our Chapter thriving.
