2009 CHAPTER EVENTS
Our Fort Wayne Chapter of ASG is pleased to be able to offer our members special events throughout the year. The neighborhood groups offer you numerous opportunities on a regular basis to meet friends and share a common interest in sewing. The Special Events are created to offer the opportunity to gather as an entire Chapter and participate in activities that cannot be presented on the NG level. These events are being planned by your Chapter Advisory Board now. We are always eager to receive comments and suggestions regarding future events, so feel free to Contact Us.

February 1st - Sunday
Community Service Sew-In
9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
St. Joe Township Hall
Our chapter will be sewing various items that fulfill a community need. The final projects will be determined from requests and suggestions submitted to the Chapter Advisory Board. We will continue to sew children's fleece hats, scarves and mittens for donation to local charities. Also, we will be sewing children's pillowcases as part of the 2009 ASG National Community Service project for Ronald McDonald House in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Some of the pillowcases will also be donated to local agencies.

Bring your sewing machine and basic sewing supplies. Also bring lunch and/or snack items to share. Food donations for the Township emergency pantry will be collected in appreciation for our use of the hall at no charge. Plan on having a great time with sewing friends and doing good works, too!
The St. Joe Township Hall is located in the Fire Station on the corner of Maplecrest Rd. and St. Joe Center Rd.

Fort Wayne Chapter Annual Bus Trip

We're going to Chicago! Of course the main destination for our stash acquisition tour will be Vogue Fabrics. Last time we were in Chicago, we visited both of their locations. The remaining stops are yet to be determined. So watch this space or our Newsletter, Sew On….Sew Forth, for details and the registration form. The bus trip is a sell-out each year and the Chicago trip closes the quickest!

Christmas In July Sew-In

Merry Christmas to you, Fort Wayne ASG Chapter Members! As an "Appreciation Event" to our membership, The Chapter Advisory Board has planned on giving you an early Christmas present…..Christmas In July! Come and create items for yourself or to use as Christmas gifts for friends and family. The event will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. , you can attend the entire time or just stop by and sew a project or two. We'll serve refreshments, too! As a member, participation will be totally free!
All of the materials and patterns will be available so you will only need to bring your sewing machine and basic sewing supplies. To avoid copyright infringement, copies of patterns will not be available for take home. There will be plenty of time to complete several simple projects on site.
Remember, this is a gift to you, our membership, at no charge. Besides getting started on Christmas gift giving, you'll also have the opportunity to spend time with sewing friends. Please do come join the fun!! Merry Christmas!!
